ECO4 - Free insulation for low-income households

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) provides fully funded heating upgrades for homes that meet certain criteria.

You may be eligible if:

  • You receive means-tested benefits
  • Your household income is under £31,000
  • Someone in your home has a qualifying health condition
  • Your home is off the gas grid
  • Your EPC rating is D, E, F, or G

Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)

A £7,500 grant for homeowners replacing fossil fuel heating (oil, LPG, gas) with a low-carbon heat pump.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme covers:

  • Air source heat pumps
  • Ground source heat pumps

  • You must own your home
  • Your home must meet minimum insulation requirements
  • You pay the difference (this is not a full grant)
