What are the main contributors to the size of your setup?

Several factors determine the size of the solar system that’s right for your home:

  • Electricity usage
    The more energy you use, the more panels you’ll need to generate enough power.
  • Roof size and orientation
    South-facing roofs are best, but east- and west-facing roofs can still be effective. The available space will determine how many panels you can install.
  • Panel type and efficiency
    Some panels generate more power per square metre. Higher-efficiency panels may mean you need fewer of them.
  • Budget
    Your system size may also depend on how much you want to invest upfront or finance monthly.
  • Whether you want battery storage
    If you plan to store excess power, this may influence how large your system needs to be.
