AWARD WINNING SOLAR AND HEATING INSTALLATION SPECIALISTS

Project Manager – Solar PV – Birkenhead - £35K - £50K

Due to continued growth and the award of new contracts, LMF Energy Services Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Solar Project Manager to join our expanding renewable energy delivery team.

You will take responsibility for the successful delivery of Solar PV projects across domestic and social housing programmes, managing projects from mobilisation through installation, commissioning and final handover.

This is a key delivery role requiring someone who can manage multiple workstreams, installation teams and stakeholders while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, customer experience and programme performance.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

    • Managing Solar PV projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
    • Planning and coordinating installation programmes across multiple sites and properties.
    • Managing directly employed and subcontract Solar PV installation teams.
    • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
    • Monitoring installation volumes and performance against programme targets.
    • Working closely with Solar Design, Commercial, Procurement, Technical and Customer Experience teams.
    • Reviewing designs and identifying potential installation or delivery issues before works commence.
    • Coordinating materials, equipment and installation resources to maintain programme delivery.
    • Managing site surveys, installations, commissioning and handover activities.
    • Carrying out site inspections and monitoring workmanship and quality.
    • Ensuring installations comply with MCS requirements, BS 7671, manufacturer requirements and relevant industry standards.
    • Managing DNO requirements and ensuring appropriate documentation is completed.
    • Managing variations, technical issues, defects and remedial works.
    • Maintaining accurate project records, installation evidence and reporting.
    • Monitoring subcontractor and installer performance.
    • Liaising with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, residents and other client stakeholders.
    • Supporting commercial teams with programme performance, variations and cost control.
    • Ensuring excellent Health & Safety standards are maintained throughout delivery.
    • Providing regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
    • Driving projects through to successful completion, including snagging, commissioning and final handover.

About You

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience managing Solar PV installation projects, ideally involving high-volume domestic or social housing delivery.

You should have:

    • Previous experience as a Solar Project Manager, Renewable Energy Project Manager or similar.
    • Strong technical understanding of Solar PV systems.
    • Experience managing multiple installation teams and subcontractors.
    • Experience delivering multiple installations simultaneously rather than solely one-off projects.
    • Good understanding of Solar PV design, installation and commissioning.
    • Knowledge of MCS and DNO requirements.
    • Strong project planning and organisational skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
    • Experience managing programme performance, quality and deadlines.
    • Commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs and variations.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-moving environment.
    • Full UK driving licence.

Social housing • Housing Associations • Local Authorities • Warm Homes programmes • ECO • SHDF/WH:SHF • PAS 2030/2035 • SolarEdge systems • Battery storage • Retrofit programmes

Relevant electrical, Solar PV or project-management qualifications would also be advantageous.
