Am I eligible for ECO4 funding?
You might be eligible if:
- Your home has an EPC rating of D, E, F, or G

What kind of upgrades could I get?
Depending on your home, you could receive:
- Solar panels to reduce electricity bills
- A new, efficient heating system
- Wall, loft or cavity insulation
- Smart controls and upgraded radiators
The exact improvements you get are tailored to your home’s needs and usually include a combination of upgrades, determined by the survey.
Is the ECO4 scheme backed by the government?
Yes. ECO4 is backed by the UK government through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) programme. Funding comes from energy suppliers, but it's a government-led initiative that helps households improve energy efficiency and lower their energy bills. The government-backed ECO4 scheme has supported thousands of eligible households to install energy-saving upgrades such as insulation, boiler replacements, heat pumps, and solar panels.
Do I have to pay anything?
No. If you're eligible, the scheme covers 100% of the cost, including surveys, installation and equipment.
How long does it take?
Once approved, installations can typically happen within 4-6 weeks, depending on your home, location and installation recommendations.
I rent my home, can I still apply?
Yes! If you’re a tenant in a privately rented home, you can qualify. You just need to get your landlord’s permission before work begins.
Will this affect my benefits?
No. Getting ECO4 improvements doesn’t impact your benefits in any way.
How do I know if I have an EPC?
You can check your EPC rating here. If you don’t have one, we can address it as part of your application.
