Helping Cut Energy Bills Across the Liverpool City Region
We’re proud to be playing a leading role in a major programme that will make homes across the Liverpool City Region warmer, greener and more affordable to run.
As a Wirral-based business employing more than 200 local people, we’ve been appointed by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as a lead contractor to deliver energy efficiency upgrades across Wirral, Halton, St Helens and Knowsley.
This work forms part of the £31.8 million Warm Homes Local Grant programme, which aims to improve around 2,000 homes across the region. At a time when many households are still feeling the impact of high energy costs, this programme is designed to make a real difference, helping families reduce their bills while improving comfort at home.
As part of this initiative, we’ll be upgrading approximately 430 properties, installing measures such as solar panels, insulation and heating improvements. These upgrades will help homes retain heat more effectively, lower energy usage and significantly cut running costs. Our contribution represents more than one in five of all homes supported through the programme.
This programme also plays an important role in supporting the region’s ambition to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2035, while tackling fuel poverty in our communities.
For us, this work is deeply personal. We’ve been delivering home energy upgrades for more than a decade, and as a business rooted in Merseyside, it means a great deal to be improving homes in the communities we serve.
Over the past ten years, we estimate that the measures we’ve installed are saving households more than £2.2 million in energy costs every year, while reducing carbon emissions by around 6,000 tonnes annually.
Installations are already underway, and we’ll continue delivering this work through to March 2028.
We’re incredibly proud to be part of a programme that not only improves homes, but also supports local people, reduces bills and contributes to a more sustainable future for the Liverpool City Region.
