LMF Charity Draw – May
Today we start our Monthly Charity Draw, and our Finance Manager Laura Williams has chosen a charity close to her heart.
Here Laura introduces us to the gorgeous Oliver, his mum Becky and their lovely dog Roo !
LMF Energy Services will be donating £500 to this wonderful charity.

What is Prada Willi Syndrome?
Prader-Willi syndrome is caused by some missing genetic material in a group of genes on chromosome number 15. This affects part of the brain called the hypothalamus, which produces hormones and regulates growth and appetite. Typical symptoms of PWS can be:
- Excessive appetite
- Low muscle tone (Hypotonia)
- Learning Difficulties
- Behavioural Challenges both emotional and physical
Why PWSAuk?
I’ve picked this charity in honour of my little friend Oliver. My friends, Becky & Mike, received Oliver’s diagnosis shortly after he was born and have faced their PWS journey with incredible strength and dignity.
This charity has helped them write out DLA applications, they’ve helped them when no one would listen, they’ve given advice and support. People are always so focused on research, and while this is important, the support provided by this charity is invaluable and Becky and Mike Feel they wouldn’t have got through the last 6 years without them.
Donations like this will help other families on the same Journey benefit from the same support and guidance.
Meet Oliver
Oliver is 6 years old and is probably the biggest Toy Story fan that you will ever meet. You name a toy from it, and I can almost guarantee that he has it (Even the toys from Sid’s room).
He is the most sociable little boy, pretty much everyone who meets him is drawn to his sunny personality. He has the best sense of humour and regularly makes his own jokes up.
One of his key best friends is Roo, our dog, she’s more affectionately known as baby woo. Roo has been his number one cheerleader from day one, she’s cleaned the mess he’s made when he’s eating, she was there helping him to roll, she’s helped him to learn to crawl because he’s always been desperate to be close to her. They’re the best pairing and we couldn’t have asked for a more patient dog!
